Mincey Feeling “Really in Shape” After Camp Debut on Tuesday

Jeremy Mincey no-showed the opening of camp in hopes of reworking his contract

Cowboys defensive end and reigning sacks leader Jeremy Mincey arrived at training camp on Sunday, after no-showing the opening of camp and the team’s first three practices in hopes of reworking his contract (he has since received a $500,000 raise but nothing more for now). The team was off on Monday, making Tuesday’s session Mincey’s camp debut.

The veteran came away from the workout feeling encouraged.

I did a pretty good job,” Mincey said, per the Dallas Morning News. “I feel really in shape. I’m actually getting acclimated, getting back used to playing some good ball.”

Apparently, part of Mincey’s offseason was spent in the studio, recording a song with DJ London, a British-born, Georgia-based artist, called “Cowboys Anthem.”

“It’s a really good song,” Mincey said. “It has like this old western sound, it comes on like that to build the suspense and the beat just drops and cranks everybody up.”
