Melton Might Miss Playoffs With Knee Injury

Henry Melton is second on the team in sacks with five

Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Henry Melton finished his regular season on Sunday dealing with a hurt left knee, an injury that may end his first season with the team.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reports that Melton will go for an MRI today but there’s a serious chance that, with the injury, the University of Texas product won’t be able to go against the Lions this week in the opening round of the playoffs.

Melton signed a very team-friendly deal with the Cowboys in the offseason, and is second on the team in sacks with five (Jeremy Mincey has six).

If Melton is on the roster on the first day of the 2015 league year, he will receive a three-year extension worth $24 million, including $9 million guaranteed.
