That knowledge, however, did not prepare her or her boyfriend, Ben McElroy for what happened with 1:01 left in the second quarter of the Mavericks' Saturday night loss to Memphis.
One moment, Mavericks rookie Luka Doncic was barreling toward them. The next, McElroy was being hailed on Twitter as the "pink shirt guy" who risked life and limb to safe Doncic.
