Cowboys running back Darren McFadden was drafted by Al Davis’s Oakland Raiders with the fourth overall pick back in 2008. He came to Jerry Jones’s Dallas Cowboys as a free agent this offseason, after seven seasons in the NFL. Not surprisingly, he sees a few similarities between Davis and Jones, who were good friends up until Davis’s death in 2011.

“Definitely,” McFadden told Babe Laufenberg in a recent interview for the Dallas Morning News. “They’re go-getters, and they want their teams to be successful. They’re going to do what it takes for them to be successful. They’re two very sharp guys. They know football.”

The most obvious connection between McFadden and his new boss Jones, meanwhile, is that they’re both famous Arkansas Razorbacks. Laufenberg asked McFadden, if he and Jones were on campus in Fayetteville, who would get stopped for more pictures with fans.

“I would say me--just because of age,” McFadden said. “I may have a little more following with the younger crowd, but if it comes to older crowds, definitely Jerry.”
