McFadden Not Worried About the Depth Chart

Darren McFadden signed with the Cowboys in March after seven seasons in Oakland

The Dallas Cowboys will go into training camp without any exact idea of how the carries will be distributed between Darren McFadden and Joseph Randle, and they’re fine with that.

The situation will figure itself out, we suppose. Randle has been impressive in very limited playing time, averaging 6.7 yards per carry last year behind DeMarco Murray.

McFadden has had a lackluster NFL career to this point, but he’s been running behind an unimpressive line in Oakland and the Cowboys believe he still has the skill set that led to him being picked fourth overall in the 2008 draft.

The elder of the two, McFadden isn’t worried about where he’ll end up on the depth chart.

“For me, I’m just going out there grinding. However the coaches put me out there--whether it’s first team or second team,” McFadden told the team’s website. “When it comes time for them to make a decision, it’s totally up to them. I’m just trying to get that playbook down and take advantage of this opportunity.”
