Mavs' Potential Free-Agent Targets Still Playing For Title

Watching the NBA Playoffs’ Conference Finals, trying to remember how long ago it was the Mavericks’ season finished, and also salivating at the free agents this summer?

Me too. Guilty, guilty and way guilty.

Mavs owner Mark Cuban predicted a Thunder championship, so he’s one of the few not surprised by OKC’s 2-1 lead heading into tonight’s Game 4. Dallas, for the record, was eliminated by the Thunder 30 days ago all the sudden. And as for whom Mavs fans should be analyzing as potential free-agent targets?

Lots amongst the NBA’s final four.

Among players still fighting for a title that will be free agents in July: LeBron James (Cavs); DeMar DeRozan and Bismack Biyombo (Raptors); Kevin Durant (Thunder) and Harrison Barnes (Warriors).

A native Texan who was born in Duncanville and graduated from UT-Arlington, Richie Whitt has been a mainstay in the Metroplex media since 1986. He’s held prominent roles on all media platforms including newspaper (Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Dallas Observer), radio (105.3 The Fan) and TV (co-host on TXA 21 and numerous guest appearances, including NBC 5). He lives in McKinney with his wife, Sybil, and two very spoiled dogs.
