Martin, Free Dealing With Ankle Injuries

Doug Free exited Sunday night's victory over the Eagles with an ankle injury in the third quarter

Cowboys starting right tackle Doug Free left Sunday night’s 38-27 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in the third quarter with a right ankle injury and spent the rest of the game on the sidelines, and he wasn’t the only member of the offensive line to suffer such an injury.

Rookie right guard and serious Pro Bowl candidate Zack Martin injured his ankle in the second quarter but, unlike Free, he was able to finish the game--which he took as a good sign moving forward.

I just have to get it checked out,” Martin said, per the Dallas Morning News. “I twisted it. We’ll see how it is.”

As for Free, the elder statesman of the Dallas offensive line insisted afterward that he would be fine. Head coach Jason Garrett, on the other hand, said the team would just have to wait and see.

“We’ll see what Doug’s status is,” Garrett said. “Obviously serious enough to keep him out of the game.”
