Marinelli: “It'll Help to Get Everyone Back”

The Cowboys just got Greg Hardy and Rolando McClain back and they have more defensive reinforcements coming

Coming out of the bye week, the Dallas Cowboys rank 18th in the NFL with 11 sacks. They’re 30th in the league with just two interceptions and 31st in fumbles forced, with two. Of those, they recovered one--that’s three turnovers, five games into the season.

The good news is some help arrived against the Patriots last week, and more is on its way.

In the 30-6 loss to New England, Greg Hardy returned from his four-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the league, sacked Tom Brady twice and was in his face a lot of the day. Linebacker Rolando McClain also returned from a four-game suspension in that game--his suspension was for a violation of the league’s substance abuse policy--and contributed a sack to the effort.

This week, it looks like they’ll get rookie defensive end Randy Gregory back.

Gregory--a man who elicited loud cheers from the Cowboys’ draft room when they fell to him in the second round--suffered a high ankle sprain in the season opener, cutting his regular season NFL debut short after a couple of QB pressure but no sacks or tackles, and has been out ever since.

Yeah, it’ll help to get everyone back,” Marinelli told the team’s official website. “You always want all of your guys. And when we’re healthy, I think we have a chance to be really good. We just have to keep working. But, it’s a good group.”
