Long Recovery Expected for Cowboys Folk Post Surgery

Dallas Cowboys place kicker Nick Folk underwent surgery in Colorado Monday to repair a right hip labral tear.

Folk, 24, is expected to be able to resume light kicking work in eight weeks, and the team is hopeful that he will be able to handle full kicking work in 12 weeks.

The kicker, who will enter his third season with the Cowboys and NFL this fall, only missed two field goal attempts in 2008 and five in 2007 -- giving him a percentage of made kicks at 87 percent.

Folk hails from Los Angeles, Calif., and attended college at Arizona.
