Lions RB: Murray Shouldn't Worry About Linehan

Over the past couple of years, there haven't been many passing attacks in the NFL more powerful and feared than the Detroit Lions' behind quarterback Matthew Stafford and the league's best wide receiver in Calvin Johnson.

Scott Linehan loves to throw the ball around, and now he's moving over from being the offensive coordinator for the Lions to be the passing game coordinator and play-caller for the Cowboys. There's been a lot of talk that the Cowboys will once again abandon the running game in Linehan's offense to instead work a heavy dose of Tony Romo to Dez Bryant.

But one of Linehan's former running backs says DeMarco Murray shouldn't worry about being forgotten, especially not considering the way Murray closed out the season with several big rushing performances in limited carries.

"Actually, we kind of converted him this year," Joique Bell told 105.3 The Fan of Linehan. "We started running the ball a little more this year. Me and Reggie [Bush]. We had a little 1-2 punch back there. From the beginning of the season to the end of the season, he was committed to the run, and as long as you're producing ... you don't produce, that ball's going to be in the air."

Murray was one of the league's top rushers over the final 6-7 games of the season despite being near the bottom in rushing attempts, as the Cowboys' offensive line went from being a major liability to a strength in 2013, especially when it came to running the ball.

"He doesn't have to be worried," Bell said of Murray. "If he produces, he's going to run the ball."
