Colby Lewis has never been a big fan of pitching in Arizona.

As a pitcher who gives up a lot of home runs, things generally go even worse for the fly-ball pitcher in the dry air of the Arizona desert where balls carry more than normal.

On Sunday, Lewis entered his final Arizona outing of the spring before finishing up his exhibition slate this weekend in Arlington with an ERA of more than 10.00, but his final outing in Arizona on Sunday went very well.

First off, Lewis worked 6 2/3 innings, becoming the first Rangers starter to go even six innings this spring. Through six innings, he'd allowed just two runs before allowing two more in the seventh. Lewis retired the first 10 hitters he faced before allowing his first hit of the game — a solo home run.

Lewis is nothing more than a No. 5 starter when Yu Darvish is back in the fold, and if he can give you six innings and get six strikeouts like he did on Sunday, that's going to be plenty good for the role the Rangers are asking him to play this season.
