Lee Says Team Chemistry Wasn't Problem

The Cowboys flipped the script on their wonderful 2014 season with last year's disappointing campaign by seeing their record dip from 12-4 and being minutes from an NFC title game to being 4-12 and having ownership of the No. 4 overall pick in April's draft.

There were several reasons, most notably the absence of healthy stars Tony Romo and Dez Bryant, but some players also have said there was an issue in the locker room with the addition of controversial pass-rusher Greg Hardy.

But Sean Lee, who's arguably the locker room guy along with possibly Jason Witten said the locker room chemistry wasn't an issue — making plays and overcoming adversity were the real problems.

"I thought we were all on the same page," Lee told SiriusXM NFL Radio. "If you watch our effort throughout games, we played extremely hard.

"The issue with us when we lost some of our best players — Tony and Dez — and the margin of error became smaller. We weren't able to overcome adversity. We didn't make the critical, game-changing plays [on defense] all the time. We didn't cause enough turnovers. We didn't make the plays down the stretch in the fourth quarter. That's why we lost games. It was never because we weren't all-in or effort. It was all because of execution, especially in critical times."

Lee had a career year after moving from middle linebacker to weak-side linebacker despite having some concussion problems and missing a couple of games.
