Kiper Gives Dallas C+ for Draft

ESPN's Mel Kiper published his annual draft grades on Monday

The Dallas Cowboys fared just okay in the 2013 NFL Draft, according to ESPN Draft expert Mel Kiper, Jr.

Kiper published his draft grades on Monday, and had the Cowboys getting a “C-plus” for their work over the weekend. They aren’t alone. Kiper also gave NFC East rivals, the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins that same score.

Only the Philadelphia Eagles fared better, getting a B-plus.

Dallas actually got a “B” where needs are concerned but Kiper sees the value of the class lagging, giving the Cowboys a “C-minus” in that department.

Of course, Dallas came under some fire for their decision to trade down from the No. 18 overall, swapping with the San Francisco 49ers and leaving the Cowboys at No. 31. They used that pick on Wisconsin center Travis Frederick, immediately prompting the hosts of ESPN’s draft coverage to question if they couldn’t have landed him much later.

Frederick himself has said that he did not expect to be a first rounder.
