Kenny Vaccaro Was Reportedly Impressive at Texas Pro Day

Vaccaro is projected as a first round pick in next month's NFL Draft

About a month away from the NFL Draft, University of Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro’s stock just keeps on rising.

The Longhorns had their Pro Day on Tuesday, and among those watching the projected first-round pick were two scouts from the Dallas Cowboys, who are looking for an upgrade at the safety position. Vaccaro was reportedly more than a little impressive, but Vaccaro himself was left somewhat disappointed because he couldn’t run the 40 on due to a hip flexor injury.

At the Combine, Vaccaro ran a disappointing 4.63, a fact that only added to the young safety’s frustration.

I was real disappointed because I know how fast I am," said Vaccaro, who added that he was consistently clocked between the high 4.4s and low 4.5s before the injury, per the Dallas Morning News.

Vaccaro has already held a private workout in Austin with Cowboys receivers coach Jerome Henderson, and will visit Valley Ranch next week. Which is to say, suddenly, it doesn’t seem like such a sure thing that Dallas will go after an offensive lineman in the first round of next month’s draft.
