Johnson Confident Jerry Will Keep the Band Together

Jimmy Johnson knows Jerry Jones well from their years in Dallas

On Tuesday, the Dallas Cowboys agreed to a five-year deal with head coach Jason Garrett and were nearing a deal for three years with defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli. From what we can glean from his postgame remarks last Sunday, the news came as no surprise to former Cowboys head coach and current FOX analyst Jimmy Johnson.

After the 26-21 Cowboys loss to the Packers in Green Bay, Johnson was asked on the FOX postgame show about not only Garrett, but free agents-to-be DeMarco Murray and Dez Bryant. Johnson was quick to express confidence that Jones would do what he had to in order to keep the band together, so to speak.

“I know Jerry," Johnson said, via the Dallas Morning News. “He’s not going to let any of these people leave.

Johnson added that Jones is "the best salesman I've met in my life."
