Jerry Suggests Mo Claiborne Probably Out for Thanksgiving

Byron Jones got his first career start at cornerback on Sunday, in place of Morris Claiborne, who is dealing with a hamstring injury suffered in the loss to the Bucs--and it looks like he’ll be back at it on Thursday, when the undefeated Panthers come to town for a Thanksgiving Day matchup.

Jerry Jones told 105.3-FM The Fan’s Shan and RJ this week that Claiborne will probably miss that game.

"Obviously it's a negative for him not to be there but those hamstrings are just a kind of a evaluate as you go," Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News. "That's why you don't just say he's out. On the other hand, you got to probably be conservative with a hamstring. We got a lot of football left to play, we hope."

Jerry Jones was full of praise for the work done by Byron Jones, who was at safety--and playing very well there--until Claiborne went down.

"He has exceeded expectations," Jerry Jones said. "He really does give us a chance because he just understands everything so well. He's just very intuitive. Apart from being book smart, he's very intuitive, football intuitive, which can be different, too. Of course, he's got the athletic ability to go with it."
