Jerry Jones Named 10th Most Influential In North American Sports

The ranking of North America's most influential sports business figures was compiled by SportsBusinessDaily.com

According to at least one publication, there are only nine more influential figures in North American sports than Dallas-Fort Worth’s own favorite wealthy old guy, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones.

Jones stayed at the No. 10 spot for the second consecutive year in SportsBusinessDaily.com’s ranking, which was published this week. And according to the article, the seating fiasco at the Super Bowl last year was but a mere hiccup along Jones’ road of influence.

"The first Super Bowl at the Cowboys' new home may have not gone as planned, but that's hardly slowed Jones," the article says. "Whether on the labor committee that negotiated the new NFL collective-bargaining agreement or on the high-profile broadcast committee negotiating the wave of mega TV deals, Jones has a say in the NFL's most critical decisions."

Mavericks’ owner Mark Cuban, fresh off his first world championship, came in at No.45 after going unranked last year. The entire list can be found here.
