Apparently Jerry Jones knew what he was doing when he created drama with his team through the years.
The Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager told the Wall Street Journal's Jason Gay that he thinks "soap opera-like" story lines keep people interested in the team.
“That’s one of the things that makes sports interesting. I do feed that," he told Gay. “I think there is some of me that wants to, that probably is intentional.”
Story lines like the team's quarterback situation, for example. Despite the fact that the team owns the NFC's best record at 12-2, much of the talk surrounding the team has involved the "battle" between Tony Romo and rookie Dak Prescott.
Prescott started the season in place of the injured Tony Romo and hasn't looked back. But that hasn't stopped Jones from leaving the door open for Romo to reclaim his role or at least remain with the team.
