Jerome Henderson Interviewing for Jags' DC Job

Henderson has been the Cowboys' secondary coach since 2012

Dallas Cowboys secondary coach Jerome Henderson is in Jacksonville this week to interview for the Jaguars defensive coordinator job, according to David Moore of the Dallas Morning News.

This is the second interview Henderson has gone on this offseason. He also interviewed for the Cleveland Browns head coaching vacancy. That job ended up going to Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson.

Henderson’s contract expired at the end of the season, but the Cowboys have made no secret of their hope to keep him. Recently, the two sides were working on a new deal with the understanding that Henderson would only leave if it was for a significant promotion—either a coordinator or head coaching job.

The Jaguars’ interest in Henderson reportedly got a boost when Jim Schwartz, who they were seriously considering, accepted the defensive coordinator job with the Eagles.
