JD Further Confirmed What We All Knew About Beltre

At this point, nothing Adrian Beltre does should surprise you as a fan of the Texas Rangers, or just even of baseball, in general. In short, Adrian Beltre is awesome at all things, and he's basically the DFW area's baseball hero, and rightfully so.

On Friday in the Rangers' end-of-season press conference with general manager Jon Daniels and manager Jeff Banister, Daniels dropped a pretty big fact bomb on the area when he disclosed what Adrian Beltre had been playing with since the end of May, a thumb injury that sidelined him for just three weeks before he returned without a rehab assignment or anything and played well over the season's second half.

Beltre hit .318 with an .844 OPS and 11 homers over the second half and was the AL Player of the Week in the regular season's final week, and he did all of that with a torn ligament in his thumb. Torn ligament. That's simply amazing, not only that Beltre was able not only only hit, but also play very good at third base.

Yet, it's nothing that should surprise anyone. Beltre, famously, has played with intestines hanging out of his abdominal wall and after taking a hot-shot line drive to the nether regions with [insert body part here] the size of what he said was a grapefruit. And he still doesn't wear a cup in the field.

Basically, Beltre is Paul Bunyan on a baseball diamond, and we're all lucky enough to watch him, and he proved that once again in what was a pretty magical 2015 season.
