Injury Bug Bites Another Stars Player

The Dallas Stars placed center Toby Petersen on the injured reserved list, adding to the team's offensive injury woes.

The Stars announced the move Tuesday, the same day they recalled goaltender Tobias Stephan from Bridgeport, an American Hockey League club.

The 30-year-old Petersen has four goals and seven assists in 57 games this season. He broke his left foot Monday against San Jose his status on the injured reserve will be re-evaluated in four weeks.

The Stars are already without two of their top scorers. Center Brad Richards is out with a broken wrist and left wing Brenden Morrow has an injured knee. The Stars are hoping both players will return if Dallas qualifies for the playoffs.

The 25-year-old Stephan has appeared in seven games for the Stars this season and has allowed 3.35 goals per game.
