Hunter Opts to Join Twins

For years now, it's been rumored that Torii Hunter would finish his career in Texas, nearby his home in Prosper. But once again, the Texas Rangers have been spurned by the veteran outfielder, as Hunter opted on Tuesday to return to where his career began by signing a one-year deal with the Twins at 39 years old.

Hunter played the past two seasons with Detroit and was an all-star in 2013 while having a decent 2014 with 33 doubles, 17 homers and 83 RBIs while batting .286. He would've been a nice stop-gap in one of the corner outfield spots while the Rangers wait for either Nomar Mazara or a position change for Joey Gallo in 2016.

Now, the Rangers will look to move forward with the mix of Ryan Rua, Jake Smolinski, Mitch Moreland and Michael Choice, or they could still be in on the trade market for a guy like Justin Upton, who the Rangers have reportedly shown interest in.
