If you're planning to go to a Dallas Cowboys game at AT&T Stadium, there are some new NFL security rules you need to know about... basically don't bring a bag unless it's clear.

On Friday, NBC 5 found out the NFL bag policy will apply to all publicly ticketed events at AT&T Stadium, not just NFL games.

AT&T Stadium is banning bags in general except for small clutches. What's a small clutch? Get out your ruler, it has to be no bigger than 5 inches by 8 inches, roughly the size of a piece of notebook paper folded in half.

That means no more diaper bags, backpacks, camera bags, briefcases, fanny packs, seat cushions or coolers.

That doesn't mean you can't bring the things you need into the stadium with you on game day. Fans are allowed to bring one bag into the stadium, but it cannot exceed 12" x 6" x 12" and must be made of clear plastic, vinyl or PVC. One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags are also allowed.

Clear is key, it might not be your style, but the NFL is also selling clear totes with team logos with the same dimensions. (CHA-CHING Jerry!)

The new rules were prompted by the Boston Marathon bombings. The NFL stadium security committee voted unanimously in May to limit the size and types of bags permitted inside stadiums. And again, AT&T Stadium has decided to make this the policy for all events.

Saturday is the first preseason home game for the Cowboys and no doubt there will be a lot of women grumbling as they go back to their car to hide their purses.

Better yet, be prepared, leave the bag at home.
