One isn't expected be back until mid-summer, and the other hopes to be back within the month, but Texas Rangers left-handed starters Derek Holland Matt Harrison appear to be on a good track in their respective, and very different, rehab processes.
Holland, who is recovering from microfracture surgery after falling down some stairs thanks to his dog back in January, is expected to throw a bullpen session on April 2 in Arlington, which is actually a pretty big step. Holland was projected to be able to return sometime around the all-star break, which is early-July, but he has gone on record he plans on being back in June.
Harrison, who made just two starts in 2013 before missing the rest of the year and undergoing multiple back surgeries, had a setback after sleeping on a soft mattress when he first arrived in Surprise, Ariz., for spring training. He will start the season on the disabled list but it expected to return at some point in the middle of the Rangers' 10-game April homestand from April 11-20.
