Hamels Hopes For Good Resutls Day After Bullpen

The Rangers are unsure of how much time Cole Hamels will miss after skipping his scheduled Monday start with a mild groin strain. All we know is Jeff Banister has told reporters he doesn't expect a trip to the disabled list for the ace lefty.

On Monday, Hamels threw a 25-pitch bullpen session to test the left groin and reported no issues. In fact, pitching coach Doug Brocail went as far as to tell The Dallas Morning News that Hamels threw well but added they must wait until a report from Hamels on Tuesday after a day of letting the action on the groin sink in.

"The day after is always important," Brocail told the Morning News. "If he's good, that's great. If he's not, we'll be careful. It's a long season."

Hamels hasn't lost a decision for the Rangers since early in his Rangers tenure last year. In fact, his last 10 decisions have been wins, and the Rangers are unbeaten in his last 14 starts.
