Garrett: Tony Romo Looking More Like Himself

Romo has been limited throughout camp as a precautionary measure

Last week, Dallas Cowboys quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson told the media that Tony Romo looked a little tentative when throwing the deep ball thus far in camp. Wilson expressed confidence that Romo would be back to his old self sooner than later, though, and apparently the team is beginning to see that.

Head coach Jason Garrett noted that Romo hooked up with receivers on passes downfield several times in practice on Sunday.

โ€œI thought he had a really good day,โ€ Garrett told the teamโ€™s website. โ€œHe looked like himself. Obviously having the time off prior to the game and after the game I think was good for him. Our thing all along with him has been monitor the work, communicate, get great feedback and then make our next best decision, and I think weโ€™ve done that up to this point.โ€

More than anything, Garrett was encouraged by the fact that Romo seemed to be physically comfortable.

โ€œHe didnโ€™t look quite like he was working through something,โ€ Garrett said. โ€œWeโ€™ll have to see how he handled that work. He got a good dose of it yesterday. Weโ€™ll see how he feels today as we proceed with the plan the rest of the week.โ€
