Garrett, Cowboys Glad to Have Orlando Scandrick Back

Orlando Scandrick sat out of the offseason program for almost a month in hopes of reworking his contract

Not surprisingly, Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett is glad to have cornerback Orlando Scandrick back on the field at Valley Ranch.

Scandrick sat out for most of the first month of the team’s voluntary offseason conditioning program in hopes of reworking his contract--a contract that he’s outplayed in the past two seasons as the best corner on the Dallas roster. He returned to North Texas late last week to meet with the team and rejoined his teammates on the field on Monday.

It’s great to have him back,” Garrett told the team’s official website this week. “Orlando loves playing football, loves playing for the Cowboys. His great strength as a player is his passion for the game, the edge that he plays with.”

Garrett added that it’s clear that Scandrick was working out during his time away from the team.

“He looks good,” Garrett said. “You can tell he’s been working out. We’re going to take care of the football part. The business side will take care of itself.”
