Garrett Not Surprised by Interest in Linehan

The Raiders reportedly want to interview Scott Linehan for their head coaching vacancy

It came as no surprise to Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett when passing game coordinator and offensive playcaller Scott Linehan’s name surfaced in connection to the Oakland Raiders’ head coaching vacancy.

Scott’s a really good football coach and has been in this league for a very long time,” Garrett said, per the Dallas Morning News. “He’s been a head coach in this league and he’s been an outstanding coordinator. He’s certainly helped our football team this year. I think it’s natural for his name to be in the mix on some of these different jobs that are coming up.”

The Raiders reportedly want to interview Linehan, but Linehan has no interest in discussing anything other than the Cowboys as the team continues its playoff run.

“I tell you what, I love being an assistant coach here, and I truly believe in what we’re doing here and the players we have here,” Linehan said. “Anything personal beyond that you reflect on when the season is over and you talk about it. But right now, I’m having the time of my life coaching here.”
