Garrett: New RB Robert Turbin “A Guy We've Been Interested In”

Turbin was signed by the Cowboys on Wednesday

The Dallas Cowboys signed running back Robert Turbin on Wednesday, and in doing so, got a player they’ve been interested in for a long while now, according to Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett.

He's been a good player in the league,” Garrett said, per the Dallas Morning News. “He's was a backup there in Seattle for a couple of years and did a good job when he got his opportunities. He got banged up at the end of the preseason, so I think that put them in a roster situation where they had to move on from him.

"He's a guy we've been interested in. We've liked him. He's played well in the league. We liked him coming out and we had an opportunity to get him and we feel like he can help our football team."

A fourth round pick out of Utah State in 2012, Turbin appeared in all 48 regular season games for the Seahawks over the last three seasons and started three, gaining 928 yards on 238 carries. He appeared in three games for the Browns this season, posting 60 yards on 18 carries.
