Garrett: Dez Bryant Running, Cutting at Full Speed

Dez Bryant's status for Sunday's matchup with the Giants remains up in the air

Going into Thursday’s practice session at Valley Ranch, chances were looking slim that Dez Bryant would have a chance to play in Sunday’s matchup with the New York Giants.

Owner and general manager Jerry Jones has said Bryant needs to be able to plant and cut on his surgically repaired foot before the team will consider returning him to game action. Head coach Jason Garrett echoed that sentiment this week, saying Bryant needed to string together a couple of good days of practice in order to play.

With those prerequisites out there, Bryant missed practice Wednesday, working instead off to the side with trainers--a development that would seem to indicate that Bryant might have to wait another week before returning.

But then Thursday happened and, while Garrett mentioned that Bryant would once again work off to the side to begin practice, he also said Bryant is running and cutting at full speed, according to Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Granted, this is far from a guarantee that Bryant will play. But the chances look a lot better now than they did at this time yesterday.
