Gallardo Looking to Continue Run After Rangers Loss

Yovani Gallardo has stepped on the mound for the Texas Rangers several times this season following a Rangers loss, and he hasn't made it two straight losses for his team very often.

He's been a huge reason the Rangers stayed afloat this year after losing both Yu Darvish (for the season) and Derek Holland (for four months) by the time the Rangers had played their first home game this season.

In fact, the veteran righty, who is a Fort Worth Trimble Tech grad, is in the midst of the best season of his career. He's currently 11-9 with a 3.14 ERA, nearly 40 points lower than his career-low ERA for a season that was set last year with the Brewers.

Storm Beats Wings 83-65 for 7th Straight Victory

On Tuesday night, he'll take the hill for the Rangers again looking to bounce back from a Rangers loss and he'll be looking to continue a pretty nice personal streak since the trade deadline on July 31.

Gallardo gave up five earned runs in three straight starts leading up to the trade deadline, possibly because of a distraction with talk surrounding him in the trade market. Since the deadline passed, he's been fantastic and is currently coming off two straight scoreless outings against the Tigers and Blue Jays, owners of the best offense in all of baseball.

In fact, in August, Gallardo was 4-0 with a 1.98 ERA, and he'll look to continue that trend over the final month of the season with a start in San Diego on Tuesday in a park where he's been highly successful over his career.
