As we've talked about lately, the Texas Rangers' farm system is back on the rise after a period in which it had dried up some.

And that idea was yet again reinforced when Baseball America released its top 100 prospects in baseball.

The list of Rangers, of course, was highlighted by slugging third baseman Joey Gallo, who checked in at No. 6 in the Baseball America rankings. Gallo was followed up by starting pitcher Jake Thompson, who was acquired from Detroit last season for Joakim Soria and checked in at No. 43. Catcher Jorge Alfaro, who has slid some in the prospect circles, checked in at No. 67.

Outfielder Nomar Mazara was ranked No. 87 and starting pitcher Alex "Chi Chi" Gonzalez rounded out the group of Rangers at No. 89. The most exciting thing about this group is that all of them ended the 2014 season at Double-A Frisco, meaning they could either be playing in Arlington at some point next season or involved in a big deal at the trade deadline if the Rangers are in a good position.
