First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden to Attend Game 1

First lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden will attend Game 1 of the 109th World Series between the Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals.

The pair will be in attendance to honor military veterans and will participate in a pregame ceremony at Busch Stadium as part of Major League Baseball's Welcome Back Veterans program and Obama's Joining Forces initiative.

The MLB announced earlier Monday that the game will be dedicated to veterans and their families.

The pair will join representatives from MLB and the St. Louis Cardinals, including Hall of Famer and Army veteran Red Schoendienst, at the St. Louis VA Medical Center for a military family appreciation event.

Game 1 is expected to start at around 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The first lady and Biden attended Game 1 of the 107th World Series between the Yankees and Phillies.  This is the third year for Game 1 to be dedicated to military veterans.
