Back on May 15, Prince Fielder's batting average fell to .184, which was its lowest point in nearly a month.
After getting off to a scorching start in 2015 and singling and doubling his way to AL Comeback Player of the Year honors last year, Fielder has had trouble getting started this year and we're nearly two months into the season.
But he's starting to show signs of a rebirth, even though he's not hitting the ball out of the yard. He's still sitting at two home runs on the year, which is unacceptable for a guy like him, but when you're hitting .184, you'll take what you can get.
Over the past six games, Fielder has at least one hit in each of them. In that time, he's hitting .318 with a .400 on-base percentage with two doubles and three RBIs. He has more walks than strikeouts in that time.
It's a really small sample size, but if Fielder is starting to turn the corner after not doing much at all this year, it would be a massive boost for the Rangers' lineup that seems to go in spurts at the moment as far as scoring runs and then going dry.
