Fielder Earns First Weekly Honor With Texas

It's beyond obvious now that the Prince Fielder for Ian Kinsler swap, in fact, was not a disaster.

But for the first time this season, which has been a great one for Fielder, the Rangers designated hitter picked up an AL Player of the Week honor on Monday, actually sharing the award with Chicago's Jose Abreu.

Fielder, of course, was the MVP of the Rangers' four-game sweep of Houston last week as he hit .500 over the four games with three home runs and eight RBIs. His eighth inning home run in Game 1 of the series broke a tie and gave the Rangers a key win before they rolled to three more.

The award was the sixth such honor in Fielder's career, with his last one before this coming in 2013 in his final season with the Detroit Tigers.
