Marcelo Saragosa of FC Dallas had surgery Tuesday to repair a torn medial meniscus in his right knee.
The midfielder is expected to be out of action for three to four months.
Saragosa started 23 of the 25 games in which he appeared this season, the most for the Brazilian since he started 24 of 26 for the LA Galaxy in 2004. He scored a goal and added two assists.
Saragosa had surgery on the lateral meniscus in the same knee in September 2007.
