Bob Knight Stuck on 899

And there's a good chance it could be a while before he gets to 900 career coaching wins.

Texas Tech was right in the game for the first half. They moved the ball against Oklahoma State. They attacked the basket and played good defense. They were down by three at the half, but since they were in Stillwater that was pretty good.

Either Bobby Knight gave the ultimate anti-pep talk or Sean Sutton really got his players' attention. Oklahoma State went on a 17-6 run over the first 7 1/2 minutes of the second half. Apparently the Cowboys felt they didn't bust the game open far enough. The next 5 1/2 minutes saw the Red Raiders let Oklahoma State go on a 15-0 run to take an insurmountable 67-41 lead.

Texas Tech obviously had no offense in the second half, while Oklahoma State had everyone contributing. Sophomore guard Obi Muonelo, lit the Red Raiders up in the second half by dropping 4 straight 3s in just over a minute and a half. and finished with 21 points. Muonelo missed half the season with a broken leg that took a major toll on the Cowboy depth and helped wipe-out their promising 2006-07 season.

Coach Knight may get his 900th win sometime in the next three weeks, but with Texas A&M, at Oklahoma, Missouri, at Texas and then Oklahoma State once more; it won't be a given.
