Ezekiel Elliott Makes Good First Impression with O-Line

Elliott was selected by the Cowboys with the fourth overall pick last month

The Dallas Cowboys’ offensive linemen in attendance at the annual Reliant Cowboys Home Run Derby at Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco this week haven’t known first round pick Ezekiel Elliott for long, but the rookie seems to have made a good first impression.

It seems like he's picking things up pretty quickly, which is what you like to see,” said center Travis Frederick, per the Dallas Morning News. “Early on, you see a mistake here or there, but you see less and less throughout time. So, hopefully once we get into OTAs, in a team atmosphere, we can get a really good evaluation.”

OTAs open up next week at Valley Ranch, so that further evaluation will have to wait for now. But we suppose there’s something to be said for the basic fact that the men who are charged with clearing the path for Elliott seem to like the guy.

“He's a good kid,” left tackle Tyron Smith said. “He's willing to come to work and willing to take advice. He's the right type of guy.”
