Expectations Are High for Devin Street

Street caught a pair of touchdown passes in 7-on-7 drills on Sunday

The expectations are lofty for Cowboys rookie receiver Devin Street, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Street caught two touchdown passes in 7-on-7 drills on Sunday, but after the Blue & White scrimmage, he opted against talking about those victories. Instead, what stuck in his mind was a missed opportunity on a slant.

“I’ve gotten great reviews from coaches, players, everything like that, but in my mind, I’m my toughest critic,” Street told the team’s website. “I made a lot of plays out here today, but I missed one, so it wasn’t a good practice for me.”

Among those impressed by the Pitt product was the unquestioned leader of the young receiving corps., Dez Bryant.

“He’s an animal,” Bryant said of Street. “That’s all about us having high standards for one another…We hold each other accountable and to a super high standard. Like I said, we want to be great. For all of us and especially the wide receivers, in our room, we talk about we want to make it hard for these coaches when it’s time to make a decision.”
