Eric Weddle Picks Ravens Over Cowboys, Others

The Cowboys were reportedly one of the four teams Eric Weddle chose between

The Dallas Cowboys were in the running for the services of highly touted free agent safety Eric Weddle, among the four teams Weddle ultimately found himself choosing between, but they ultimately lost out on the veteran.

According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune, Weddle has chosen the Baltimore Ravens, and will make the team the second of his career. Before this, of course, Weddle spent nine seasons with the Chargers, earning three Pro Bowls and two All-Pro nods in that time.

Last year, Weddle had 78 tackles, half credit on a sack and six passes defended in 13 games.

Per Eric Edholm of Yahoo! Sports, Weddle was deciding between the Ravens, Cowboys, Steelers and Raiders. With the Ravens, Weddle joins a defense that mustered only six interceptions last season, least in the league and two fewer than the Cowboys, who had only eight picks and were tied with the Bears for 30th in the league in that regard.

Weddle's deal with Baltimore is reportedly for four years, $29 million.
