Dunbar Explains What He Learned From DeMarco Murray

Lance Dunbar spent three seasons working side-by-side with DeMarco Murray

Darren McFadden, Joseph Randle and Lance Dunbar are the top three running backs on the Cowboys’ depth chart, and as such, they will be charged with making up for all the production lost when the reigning Offensive Player of the Year, DeMarco Murray, went to the Eagles in free agency.

Of the three, Randle and Dunbar have the benefit of having watched the 2014 NFL rushing champion work, first hand, and there’s certainly something to be said for that experience.

Dunbar recently explained what he took from the three years he spent working side-by-side with Murray.

It was more mental with him,” Dunbar said, per the Dallas Morning News. “He is a student of the game. He studied the game, the ins and outs. He knew almost as much as Romo, and that played a big part. He knew all the defenses. It just took my game to a higher level just by getting in the classroom.”
