Dez on Loss: “We Can Take Something from It”

Dez Bryant had two touchdowns and 141 yards in the loss to Denver

Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant wouldn’t go so far as Jerry Jones did in calling the loss to the Broncos a “moral victory,” but he does believe the offense can build upon their performance.

Dallas posted 48 points and 522 yards against a team that’s now 5-0 and widely viewed as an early Super Bowl pick. Quarterback Tony Romo had a career day, throwing for 506 yards and five touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns and 141 of those yards went to Bryant.

I feel damn good about the way we played,” Bryant said, per ESPN Dallas. “I feel like if we can continue doing that, we can stack some wins together. ... Every loss is frustrating, but with this kind of loss, we can take something from it. What we can take from it is how explosive we played, the mindset that we had.”

It’d be crazy to think Dallas will put up such gaudy numbers from week to week, and head coach Jason Garrett understands that. What they can do from week to week, he said this week, is enter games with the same sort of offensive approach we saw on Sunday.

“You certainly want to play with that same style,” Garrett said. “Statistically, I don’t know if we’ll replicate that. It hasn’t been done very much in the history of the franchise. So you just try to play with that same attacking, aggressive style.”
