Dez Bryant's Return Quiet, But Encouraging for Coaches

Dez Bryant had a quiet day in his return to action on Sunday, catching a pair of passes on six targets for 12 yards (Though it should be noted that, with the Cowboys offense going the way it is in the absence of Tony Romo, two catches and 12 yards was good enough to make him the fourth-leading receiver on the day).

But head coach Jason Garrett isn’t worried about Bryant’s production--that will come. He was encouraged by the fact that, of the 59 times the offense snapped the ball on Sunday, Bryant was on the field for 48 of them.

“I think the encouraging sign for us was that he played as many snaps as he did, and afterwards, he seemed like he was good,” Garrett said, per ESPN Dallas. “We anticipate him being able to practice on Wednesday and have a full week this week.”

Bryant missed five games with a broken foot, and now has seven catches for 70 yards in two games on the year.

“Anytime you haven’t played in six, seven weeks, there’s going to be some areas where you have to improve,” Garrett said. “Dez did a good job last week in practice getting better each of the days. He did some good things in the game. Hopefully he’ll benefit from that experience. Regardless how much you played, you still need to get yourself acclimated at playing in the game at this level again.”
