Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant would love for Adrian Peterson to come to Dallas, but he doesn’t think it’s going to happen--and we’re inclined to agree with him.

The rumors linking Peterson and the Cowboys were close to dead before Jerry Jones stated last week that he would consider trading a 2016 first round pick if the right deal came along. Different reports before the draft had the Cowboys out of the running for the former rushing champion’s services completely, and the Vikings--not really wanting to part with him--asking a king’s ransom, but many took Jones’s comments to mean they’re still looking at Peterson.

TMZ caught up with Bryant in a sidewalk interview over the weekend, and he spoke very highly of Peterson before explaining why he doesn’t believe Peterson will be wearing a star on his helmet anytime soon.

Truthfully if that could happen, I’d love it,” Bryant said. “You know, we’re both from East Texas. We believe in the same things. As much as he loves the game, I love the game the same way. I think it’d be something very special, but the Vikings not lettin’ that happen. Because if they did, the league would know what would happen.”
