Dez Bryant to Practice Tuesday Ahead of Sunday's Opener

Bryant has been limited since early August with a hamstring issue

All preseason, Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys maintained that the goal for Dez Bryant was to be ready for the regular season opener against the Giants on September 13. Now that that’s week away, the plan hasn’t changed and, as such, head coach Jason Garrett said this week that Bryant will be a full-participant in practice on Tuesday, when they get into their normal preparation.

Bryant suffered a hamstring strain in training camp in early August and the team has limited what Bryant could do pretty much ever since, and he never appeared in a preseason game.

Obviously, Garrett would have liked to have a fully healthy Bryant every practice but, since that wasn’t in the cards this summer, he’s glad Bryant and Romo already have a strong rapport.

“We’re fortunate that Tony and Dez spent a lot of time on task over the years and spent a lot of time on the practice field and they’ve obviously played a lot in games together,” Garrett said, per the team’s official website. “You want guys practicing every day. You want them out there working together every day but sometimes you’re not able to do that so you try to make the best of what the situation is. We’re confident that they have a lot of experience in the past that they can certainly hone in on.”
