DeMarcus Ware: Irreplaceable

Peyton Manning is the only player in the NFL more irreplaceable than the Cowboys' linebacker according to a recent list

DallasDeMarcus Ware is easily one of the best defenders in the league; this is already generally accepted as fact.

But irreplaceable?

Absolutely, according to Bill Barnwell of Football Outsiders, who recently put together the list of the NFL’s Top 10 Irreplaceable Players for ESPN.com, lauding Ware as the “best two-way defender in the league.”

Ware finished second behind Colts’ quarterback Peyton Manning.

This is more of the same for Ware, who rose to national notoriety last season, when he recorded 84 tackles and 20 sacks. The Troy-product recently finished sixth on foxsports.com’s rankings of the NFL’s 99 best players, the top spot for any defender on the countdown.

Ware’s preeminence among his defensive contemporaries will likely be reflected in a new deal that will keep him here for a long time, and very probably assure him upwards of $50 million in guaranteed money—Haynesworth money, if you will.

Ware is currently signed through the 2010 season.
