DeMarco Murray: “We'll See How it Goes”

Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray has practiced three days in a row now after undergoing surgery on his broken hand on Monday, but it’s still not clear whether he’ll play or not.

Murray told the team’s official website this week that the final decision on whether he goes or not will “probably” be his.

“I’m competitive, very competitive person, and I want to help this team out as much as I can,” Murray said. “Whatever that portrays me doing come Sunday, we’ll see from there. I’ve got two good days, and we’ll see how it goes.”

Entering Week 16, Murray is leading the NFL in rushing yards and carries by a wide margin, with 1,687 yards on 351 attempts. He said ultimately, the decision will be based on (a) if he can handle the pain and (b) if he can be effective with the bum hand.

“People deal with injuries all the time, so you’ve got to be able to fight through the pain,” Murray said. “These are some important games that we’ve got coming up, and I know how important they are, we know how important they are. Whatever we can do to get these wins is definitely crucial and vital to what we want to do in the playoffs and trying to get there.”
