As bad as Thursday was for the Texas Rangers, second only to the day they lost Martin Perez and Matt Harrison for the season last week, Rangers fans were reminded that they still have some stuff to look forward to in 2014.
One of the top things to look forward to? Every fifth day when Yu Darvish takes the mound and you get to watch one of the best starting pitchers in baseball.
Darvish did it again on Thursday and got the Rangers consecutive wins for the only the second time in a month with a seven-inning, dominant effort against the Tigers. Darvish struck out six and walked three, and had just one troublesome innig when he gave up three doubles and allowed the two runs. Other than that, he was nearly unhittable.

Think about this for a second: The Tigers have had one of the best hitting teams in baseball in recent years, and this year is no different. Yet, Darvish has thoroughly owned the Tigers throughout his three-year career.
Thursday's game ran his record against Detroit to 5-0 with a 3.60 ERA, against guys like Miguel Cabrera, Torii Hunter, Victor Martinez, Austin Jackson and Ian Kinsler, as well as healthy Prince Fielder prior to this season.
He's really good, folks. So remember, no matter what happens in this seemingly lost season, you still get to watch one of the best pitchers in baseball. Enjoy it.
