Dallas Lincoln Forced to Forfeit Games

DALLAS -- The Dallas Independent School District notified the University Interscholastic League on Thursday that Dallas Lincoln High School was forfeiting its first four games from this season for playing an ineligible player.

Unbeknownst to coaches, the player had exhausted all four years of UIL eligibility at the end of last season.

"This is an unfortunate situation for the Lincoln Tiger football team, but they have every opportunity to come back," said DISD Athletic Director Jeff Johnson. "Administrators at Lincoln properly notified this office as soon as they learned of this situation so that UIL could be notified."

As a result, the team is forfeiting four victories and is now 0-4 on the season.
