Dallas Sushi Restaurant Gets In on Finals

Sushi Zushi offers Dirk Roll, Mavericks Charm drink

Oh how clever.

Sushi Zushi, a Dallas restaurant located in the Turtle Creek area, recently hopped aboard the Dallas Mavericks playoffs wagon and created three specialty themed dishes, plus one drink, in the team’s honor, “honor” being used loosely in this regard.

According to a Pegasus News article, the restaurant come up with sushi dishes called the Dirk Roll, the Kidd Roll, and the Mavs Roll, but oddly no Pick and Roll. Yo guys, it’s basketball.

Best I can tell — because I am no fan of the sushi — the dishes relay on typical sushi fare with little to no special ingredients.

“We more or less went with our popular items and put them together," manager Josh King is quoted as saying.

So it’s just your basic sushi with Mavericks-related names and, probably, inflated prices to capitalize on the Mavs’ run at the title and fans’ emotional investment?

And let’s not forget the drink. The Mavericks Charm is “our lucky drink for the Mavs — it's a little blue," King said in the article.

OK, then.
